To the Members of Killiney Golf Club
My family and I were blown away by the warmth of your welcome on the evening of Saturday September 26th and by the whole evening itself. It was truly memorable in every way. Your generosity to me in the presentation of the travel voucher, your numerous cards and gifts, texts, words of encouragement and farewell, all struck a chord with me.
As I told the audience on the night, Killiney is a wonderful club and, if any proof of that was required, you showed it and proved it, beyond any doubt, in the manner in which you bade farewell to me on my retirement.
I enjoyed my 15 years as your Secretary Manager. It proved to be the most productive and happiest time of my entire working life. You made that possible with the respect you showed the office of Secretary Manager and to me in particular. Your constant encouragement, support, interaction, humour and ability to laugh, made it all worthwhile.
My thanks too, to my staff during those years, without whose help, commitment and expertise, I could not have done the job I did.
To the Management Committees and Officers of the Club, thank you for letting me do my job and thank you too for the professional manner in which you supported and helped me during my time in the club.
I would like to think I contributed in some small way to the continued progress of Killiney as a fine club and I wish you all many years of enjoyment there.
