The Men’s Competition on Thursday February 23rd and Saturday February 25th is an Eclectic Stableford competition. This is the first time for many years that there has been a Men’s Eclectic competition, although the Ladies play this format every year over the winter months.
The rules of Eclectic are as follows:
Check in at the computer terminal in the hallway as usual, and select Men's 9 Hole Eclectic.
The entry fee for the competition is €6.
Please apply the sticker showing your name and handicap to the Winter Scorecard.
The tees of the day are Green, the same as for the Winter League.
Play the front 9 holes and mark your Gross score in Column A.
For the back 9, your target is to have a better Gross score on each hole than the score you achieved on the front 9. Please mark your back 9 scores in Column B.
When you finish the round, the score to be inputted into the computer is the best score you achieved on each hole. For example, if you had a 4 on hole 1, and a 5 on hole 10, input a 4 in the computer. If you had a 6 on hole 2, and a 3 on hole 11, input a 3 into the computer. When you have inputted your scores, write your Stableford score on the scorecard and place the signed scorecard in the Men’s Scorecard box, which is the one nearest the Men’s Locker Room.
Our prize donors for this competition are Neil Harvey and Kieran Killeen, and we thank them in advance for their generous prize.
If you have any further questions about the Eclectic competition, please ask any member of the Men’s Committee, who will be happy to help.
