On Sunday 22nd October, on a bright sunny morning, after 3 days of rain and no golf due to the course closure, 50 KGC Ladies set off to Killeen Castle for Captain Darina’s Away Day. This was a first for the Ladies in recent history.
And what a gorgeous day it was, the sun shone all day long, no wind and even better the bunkers were out of play. Happy golf!!
A champagne scramble put us in the mood for the pre-dinner bubbles. There were some great team scores with the winning team of Emer, Miriam, Jenny and Helen G coming in with a whopping 92.
A very civilised dinner followed, and we then adjourned to the lodges for a singsong, who knew Killiney has so much talent…. when it’s late in the night!!
It was a really great day which everyone enjoyed, and huge thanks to Tina Airey for all her organisation and to Mari Frisby and Restaurant 11 in Loughlinstown who sponsored the prizes.
We look forward already to Captain Lelia’s away day next year when we hope even more KGC ladies will join us.
