Date posted: 26th March 2024

There are a number of upcoming changes to the World Handicapping System (WHS) that we would like to bring to your attention. These will take effect from the 1st April, however your Handicap Index (HI) in Killiney GC will not change until the commencement of the active season which will commence when course conditions allow for placing to be discontinued.

It is important to note that members do not need to take any action, all of the WHS changes will automatically be calculated by the software used to record scores.

The changes will be reflected in new Course Handicap (CH) charts for all three courses (Blue, Red and Green) which will be displayed shortly on the notice board outside the entrance to the locker rooms and also on the KGC website. We are also investigating how this information can be made available to members in electronic format.

Please see links below to read the two documents attached "Key Changes to WHS" and "Golf Ireland guidance on the 2024 WHS rule changes".

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact your Handicap Secretary.
