MEN'S NEWS SECTION

Plummers Wrap Up the Year in Style!

The final Plummers outing of the year was a thrilling showdown as members competed in the much-anticipated Plummers Captain's Prize last Monday. The stakes were high, with the Plummer Golfer of the Year title also on the line.
Michael Thunder held his nerve under pressure to clinch Michael Sweeney's Captain's Prize with a solid 21 points, narrowly edging out David Little, who finished just one point behind with 20 points. In an intense battle for the Plummer Golfer of the Year, David Murphy emerged victorious, accumulating an impressive 120 points over 6 competitions, barely outpacing four other contenders who finished on 119 points—a nail-biting finish to say the least!
The Plummer Match Play title was claimed by Sean Hayes, adding another thrilling chapter to the season’s highlights.
The day concluded with a fantastic dinner, attended by Captain Gary and VC Brendan, where spirits were high, greatly boosted by a pre-dinner Estrelle tasting session that set the tone for a memorable evening. During the prize-giving ceremony, Michael Sweeney announced the incoming Captain for the Plummers 2025—Jason Ballard.
Congratulations to Michael Sweeney on a stellar year, and here’s to Jason Ballard leading the Plummers to even greater heights next season!
