Dear Members,
What a spectacular Aurora Borealis display we had on Friday night - I hope everyone got to see it. 1932 was the last time we got a display like that, so a first in my lifetime! I've been waiting years to see it and didn't even have to leave my garden, let alone the country, to cross it off my bucket list - Totally Amazing! Below picture captured in Wicklow compliments of my sister in her back garden (I was too excited to take any photographs). Did anyone manage to catch a photograph of it from the course? Congratulations to Elaine Malcolm & Sam Wallace who qualified for R&A regional qualifying round which is being held in Foxrock GC on Monday, 10th June next. They have the chance to qualify for the R&A final which is played in Royal Troon, Scotland in July. An Irish team won the final in 2023! The very Best of Luck to you both!

Bunkers on the 6th Green will be in play from tomorrow 16th May.
The 7th green will hopefully open for play next Thursday 23rd May.

The Social Golf Committee's first themed "Nine & Dine' event of the season kick started with a lively Mexican Fiesta on Friday evening last. We were blessed with the weather, as if Mother Nature herself had joined us for the round. The evening began with a fun Mexican scramble, featuring a welcome Margarita shot mixed by our talented barman Luke, setting the stage for an unforgettable round. Chef Alan prepared a delicious Mexican feast, and Mexican singer Johnny Charro entertained us with tunes, transporting us to the heart of Latino culture. With sombreros and maracas in hand, we hit the dance floor, making it a night to remember. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, John & Dorothy Power and congratulations to our winners, Declan Sweeney, Emer Egan - Leopardstown, Darina Heavey & John Waters. LADIES' NEWS SECTION
On a dreadful Monday in Killiney, our Revive Team faced Wicklow Golf club in a highly competitive match which went all the way to the 19th hole. But this team have ‘nerves of steel’ and were successful in a thrilling sudden death finish. A fantastic win and well done to the team, managers and supporters who braved appalling weather conditions.
What a difference a day…. and sunshine makes…. because the very next morning 40 Killiney ladies set off on a swap day to St. Anne's Golf Club in Raheny where we played a beautiful golf course in perfect weather conditions.

Forty St. Anne's ladies also enjoyed our course and were even able to lunch on our terrace in sunshine. Killiney has never looked better. A fun golf day for all and certainly one we hope to repeat.

MIXED NEWS SECTION
Internal Scotch Mixed Foursomes Tournament - Save the Date: Sunday 23rd June
The Social Golf Committee are delighted to announce that Sixt, Ireland's most trusted and valued car hire company for over a century, has graciously agreed to sponsor our upcoming KGC Internal Scotch Mixed Foursomes Tournament to be held on Sunday, 23rd June 2024.
This year we are expanding our annual mixed Springsomes Qualifier into a larger golfing event. The day will commence with an allocated timesheet, open to players in the morning, followed by a Shotgun start in the afternoon. The top 16 Pairs will qualify for the Springsomes, with top prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The day will conclude with a delicious BBQ Supper.
All you have to do is choose your partner, or sign up as an individual - and we will pair you up! It promises to be a fantastic day of golf and camaraderie. Full details will be released very soon, so mark your calendar and get ready for this memorable event. The BBQ is also open to spouses/partners. We can't wait to see you on the course!
