Dear Members,
KGC Ladies had a great win on Monday, August 26th 2024 to retain the Boyne Trophy which we won last year. The Boyne Trophy Competition is a Ladies fourball competition run by Edenderry Golf Club since 1994, 30 years in operation this year, with an initial field of 61 Leinster clubs.
The Killiney team, ably managed by Carolyn McGovern & Eimer McGovern, played Edmondstown, Hermitage, Blackbush, Carton House, Bray with several nail-biting finishes on the 19th hole, on their way to the final where they met Courtown Golf Club to win the final.
While 10 players played in the final, a large panel of players were involved in the matches. Huge credit to all the players for their commitment and practice time given to this team. We are immensely proud of all involved.

Choir Update
Following its successful launch in February, the “Par Three Ensemble” choir will resume on Tuesday, 24th September at 7:30 PM at Foxrock Golf club. The choir proudly includes members from Foxrock Golf Club, KGC, and Carrickmines Golf Club. The choir will be directed again this term by the wonderful Aine Cassidy. Autumn leaves are fall’in’, and putting greens are call’in’ !
It’s that time of year again—our annual mixed scotch foursomes Autumn Leaves event is fast approaching! We are reducing it to nine holes this year for a quicker round. We will have an open time sheet in the morning and a shotgun start in the afternoon. There will be casual bar food throughout the day followed by prize giving.
The event will be held on Sunday, 15th September. Pairings will be done virtually, so just Click this Link to email Mags or sign up in the locker room to enter. It is always a fun Sunday, with the added excitement of discovering who you’re paired with! The anticipation is already building, so don’t delay—sign up now and ensure you’re in the running. Captain Gary's Dinner
Following our announcement of Captain Gary's Dinner Plan in last week's Weekly Digest and it being put up in the Men's Locker Room last Friday morning as stated, the Dinner List is now full and a Waiting List is in operation. Should you wish to join the Waiting List please contact the office to add your name.
Men’s Handicap Review
The Men’s Handicap Committee has conducted a handicap review and the following handicap index adjustment has been applied with effect from the 28th August 2024:

Plummers Captain's Prize & Dinner
Plummers Captain Michael Sweeney’s Prize & Dinner will be held on Monday, 9th September with a 4.30pm shotgun start. The timesheet is now open for this event. Please note to be eligible to win the Plummers Captain’s Prize, you must have previously played at lease 6 times in the Plummer’s competitions this season.
Mini Super Tuesday
Super Mini Tuesday was a great success in the afternoon sunshine with 104 players out including 34 guests, kindly sponsored by Jason Ballard of Premier Parking.

Junior Girls
Our Junior Girls had a fantastic win over Grange GC in the Junior Girls Interclub Matchplay Plate. Given the depth of Grange GC this was a great win for our small pool of junior girl players. Well done all.

Killiney Cubs
Monday 26th of August saw our Killiney Cubs descend on the club for their Cub competition. Killiney Cubs are the children/grandchildren of current members who are pre-junior membership and interested in trying out the game of golf. The format was 6 short holes where each Cub got to practice golf and make new friends in a fun and relaxed team environment. All the Cubs played really well with some expert tuition along the way from our very own Leo!
The morning was rounded off with a putting competition, a lovely lunch and of course the much anticipated prize giving! We look forward to welcoming the Cubs back soon for the next competition day!
