Course status

Course Open. Buggies are permitted on the course today.

The 2025 Winter League, sponsored by Energia, will commence again shortly. The first round will begin from the weekend of January 2nd / 5th 2025, and the final round will take place on the weekend of February 20th / 23rd 2025. The 9 Hole winner will receive the Jim Houton Memorial Trophy and the 18 Hole winner will receive the W.D.Ryan Memorial Trophy.

Members wishing to play in the 18 Hole Winter League and the 9 Hole Winter League may play on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each week. This will be kept under review during the Winter League and may change if there is high demand on the weekly timesheets.

PLEASE NOTE:  You may play in either or both the 9 Hole or the 18 Hole Winter League each week, however you can only enter each competition once weekly.  You may not play on Thursday and Saturday.

The entry fee for both the 9 Hole and the 18 Hole Winter League is €7 per round, The person marking your card does not have to be playing in the Winter League but must be a member of Killiney GC. Junior Members with a handicap index of 14 or less are eligible to play in the Winter League and win all categories of prizes. Normal timesheet booking rules for Juniors apply.

In both the 9 Hole and 18 Hole competition there will be 3 Prize Classes: 

Class 1: 0 to 12 handicap approx.

Class 2: 13 to 17 handicap approx.

Class 3: 18 and above handicap approx.

These will be subject to review after Round 3 to balance the entries in each class. If there are changes to the classes they will be notified to all competitors. 

Depending on weather conditions, the course may be varied from day to day. 

If for any reason a Weekend Competition is cancelled, the following adjustments will apply:

7/6 Rounds: 4 best scores to count.

5/4 Rounds: 3 best scores to count.

3 Rounds: 2 best scores to count.

2 Rounds: 2 best scores to count.

1 Round: Best score to count.

Prizes: A maximum of TWO prizes may be won by any one player in the each of the 9 Hole and 18 Hole Winter League Competitions in the order as listed below:

The Overall Winner receives the Trophy and a prize.

Prizes will also be awarded for overall second and third place. For 2025 there will be a Best Gross Winner and Runner Up in the 18 Hole Winter League.. 

The Winner and Runner-up in each 18 Hole Class, and the Winner and Runner-Up in each 9 Hole Class will be awarded a prize.

Weekend Prizes: Winner and Second place for 18 Holes. Winner and Second place for 9 Holes. 

In the event of a tie for any Overall or Class Prize, the Winner will be the person with the best individual round score. A tie for a Weekend Prize will be decided using the Rules of Golf.

Entry Fee per round shall be €7. You may enter at the machine in the hallway or via the Killiney GC App.

The Winter League timesheets for Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays will be released on the club website at 20.00 pm on the Thursday 10 days before the competition.  The timesheet for Round One will be released on the club website on Thursday December 26th at 20.00 pm. A Weekly Leaderboard will be posted to the Killiney GC Website. Weekly results will be posted to the Club Website after play finishes on Sunday.
