And, just like that...we’re back, happy days!
It was a social event like no other, there was an air of expectation, tinged with a bit of trepidation, but there was no need to worry, the St. Valentine’s Dinner night was all round fantastic! The members said so!
“Thank you, Saint Valentine, this is one of the best nights I’ve ever had in our club!” Brian McCarthy.
Thanks to all the members for their support, the event was a sold out within days of its announcement, and I’m delighted to say that all the people on our waiting list were accommodated.
The food was fabulous, the wine was wonderful, the company compelling, the entertainment was epic, and the service was superb. Big shout out to all the team, Chef Alan and his team, Gerry, John and bar staff.
As for our entertainers, Marco our surprise Singing Waiter was a hit with everyone, he inspired members to leap from their seats and dance the Conga, if there was a prize for enthusiasm and fun Tony Harbison would surely receive it!

A milliún go raibh maith agat to our MC, the one, the only Mr Ivan Cruise. His command of the Mr & Mrs competition was hilarious he left no stone unturned to get to the heart of the questions. We are so grateful to all our couples who participated in the fun game; Tony & Catherine Harbison, Peadar Nolan & Lelia Jennings, Siobhan & Paddy May and George O’Connell & Roisin McCarron.
After much interigation, and tears of laughter, Ivan crowned our Mr & Mrs couple of the night, King George & Queen Roisin.

Finally, I would like to extend sincere words of gratitude to Niall for the prizes, Mags for her assistance multiple times, and our Social Committee; Maureen Flannery, Declan Sweeney, Aoife Stokes, and Helen Gallagher. Your creativity, dedication and good humour while we get the work done is very much appreciated by all the members, and especially myself as chairperson, it is a pleasure to work with you all.
