For our Junior Members..
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is currently preparing the dlr Play and Recreation Policy 2022-2026 and is asking for help from the young people in our club to have their say in what they would like to see in their area. It is important to note that this policy will consider and describe how decisions are made on the delivery of play spaces and playgrounds are delivered across the County. They are now coming to the consultation phase and this is very important stage, to examine ways in which they can deepen engagement with children and young people.

As you are aware, play is essential to children and young people’s development and contributes to their cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being. DLRCC already know from feedback received during their consultation for our Children and Young People’s Plan that play and recreation facilities in dlr should be more targeted towards those children and young people with additional needs and that their voices should be heard in the planning processes. Therefore, they are seeking to be as inclusive as possible and want to speak to as many children and young people as they can.

Consultation will include a Play and Recreation public survey that closes on the 30th June next.  There also will be further engagement through their young peoples’ networks.

DLRCC realise that this is a very busy time of the year for you. However, the health, development and well-being of our children and young people is critical at a time of so much uncertainty in the world. DLRCC want to ensure the best possible outcomes for the children and young people in  our county and ask would it be possible for you to ask your Child or Children to share their views and let them know what their ideas are by completing their dlr Play and Recreation public survey?
It is available on the dlr citizens hub https://dlrcoco.citizenspace.com/parks/dlr-play-and-recreation-survey/

Reminder: Care & Maintenance
Please repair all plug marks, divots, rake the bunkers properly (even if they are of not your own making), carry a sandbag and please keep up with the group in front – it's your golf course!
