It's great to get photographs for our website. A big "thank you" to all our contributors. It's important to catch the moment, because once it's gone, it's gone.

If you're supporting one of our teams why not take along a camera and "shoot everything the moves". Don't worry about good photos or bad photos. They can be sorted. And it's amazing what can be done on the computer screen with a bit of digital fiddling. Email me a copy of the photos, or put them on a memory stick and give it to Mags (we'll return your memory stick), or if you're a bit techie upload them to Dropbox and forward the link.

Here's an important tip for taking photographs. Always use the camera or the smartphone in landscape orientation. If you use portrait orientation, which is very likely to happens if you're using a camera phone, the resulting photo has to be chopped, top and bottom,  before it can be used. Otherwise the photo will look a bit wonky when inserted into a webpage. It's not a problem. But the results will be much much better if you use landscape orientation. With very few exceptions, all the photos on the website are landscape orientation.

If you have to choose between using a camera or a smartphone, always opt for the camera. I know smartphones are good, but…

And if you must use a smartphone, use it in natural light. Smartphone photos taken using the phones build in flash are normally unusable.
