A letter from the Captains
7th December 2016

Dear Members,

Thank you so much for your warm and kind messages of support as incoming Captains of Killiney Golf Club. We would like to congratulate and extend a very warm welcome to our new President Ken McCullagh, and look forward to working with him and the new Management Committee during the year.

It has been a busy first week with the AGM, the Mixed Hamper, the First Christmas Dinner and Santa Sunday where the attendance reached a record number of 185. Congratulations to the winners of the hamper, Julie Savage and Pat Smyth, with a great score of 24 points.

We would like to take this opportunity to update you on the Golf Committee. This committee was set up the by the Management Committee during the year to review the use of the course and make recommendations for changes to the timesheet to allow greater access for all members. This committee comprises five representatives of each of the Men’s and Ladies’ Sections and the Convenor is the Secretary Manager, Niall Keyes.

The committee is looking at all timesheets during the year and the best way of utilising the course. A full review is expected to be prepared for presentation to Management not later than the end of February 2017.

In the interim, the Golf Committee have agreed that a nine-hole competition for ordinary Lady Members will be held starting Saturday 31st December, which will coincide with the Men’s winter league. This competition will accommodate 12-16 ladies depending on the format of the timesheet and will run until the end of February. The Men’s winter league will continue to be played over the Saturday and Sunday of the weekend.
