As chairperson of the organising committee of the Invitation Mixed Matchplay sponsored by Radisson Blu I would like to thank the members of Killiney who supported the events during the week. To make the week work both for ourselves and for our sponsors takes a team.

So who are they?

Starting well before last week we had:

The committee:

Captains: Gordon and Claire
Vice Captains: Michael Purcell and Aisling Sherin
Rosemary Sayers, Niall Keyes and myself.

The team:

• In the office: Mags Wolahan - new to KGC. Mags brings a very positive 'can do' attitude to all manner of tasks.
• Designing customised score cards: Matt Campbell.
• Managing our website with daily updates and photos - our media guru: Peter Bennett.
• Meet and greet: Terry Kirwan - the familiar face of KGC
• Check In: Sandra Delaney - 3 days always with a smile and a welcome and indeed also our flower lady.
• Starter: Roisin McCarron - a long day on Sunday with 64 matches to get off the 1st tee. Thanks also to President Brendan and our Lady Captain Claire for undertaking starter duty later in the week.
• Rules Officials: Ronnie Kane, Pauline Martin,  John Waldron
• Result Gatherers: Una Davis and Irene Campbell
• Scoreboard Keepers: (also tea and coffee men!) Michael Purcell, Brendan Barrett.
• A very special thank you to Graham Molloy - Course Convenor, Michael Brown and his team. The course was in magnificent condition. Not an easy task given the weather we're had so far this year. We look forward to enjoying the fruits of their efforts over the Summer months.
• To Michael Knight - many thanks for all the fetching and carrying of 'stuff'.
• To John Byrne and the bar tending team - well done - busy nights catering for thirtsy and hungry golfers, especially on 'shotgun' nights
• Mark Clark and his crew.... a good week of gorgeous food. A superb meal on Friday night . As usual much enjoyed by our visitors and ourselves.
